McCain-Keating-Palin '08: The Real GOP Ticket

If there is any remaining doubt about John McCain's connection with the deregulation debacle facing the country now, let's go back 20 or so years, to his "palling around" with one Charles Keating. Obama is only slightly acquainted with Billy Ayres, and was 8 when the bad behavior took place. Whither Charles Keating, Big Mac? (Fries with that, hon?)

Good post, as usual.

I believe in redemption, and Senator McCain certain gave the appearance of genuine repentence. But the attacks he has directed against Obama, based on associations-that-are-not-associations makes the old Keating charges once more relevant. The entire scandal did cost innocent people half a trillion dolloars.

And the lesson he learned back then was that less regulation in finance should remain his life's work.
